Nude By Nature Sheer Glow BB Cream Review

This Spring and Summer I am all about light coverage that lets my skin breathe and creates that air of mystery making everyone question….is she wearing makeup!? Being the lover of a glowing finish I was excited to try the Sheer Glow BB Cream from Nude By Nature, I haven’t put their Sheer Glow Colour Balm down so obviously the BB Cream went straight on my face when it arrived!

The Sheer Glow BB Cream comes in a golden bronze tube, I love how the aestic reminds me of golden sandy beaches! the lid pops off easily to reveal a squeeze top dispenser – a light pressure is all you will need for the perfect amount to apply. There are currently five shades in the collection which being light coverage should stretch across many skin tones although I do hope they increase the shade range in the future, I have the shade Nude Beige to share with you.

My Thoughts

A natural glow in a bottle! The Sheer Glow BB Cream is a beautiful lightweight cream which I have found applies easily using my fingers or a brush, personally I would not recommend a sponge as I found it created an uneven finish. It blends quickly and is easy to build from radiant sheer to a light coverage, perfect for those no makeup days when you just want a little boost! It reduces the appearance of my redness, calming it without completely covering it and leaves my complexion looking even, a light filter effect which I enjoy! It smoothes over my pores and I have not experienced it clinging to my dehydrated areas which is an essential for me as they can easily be emphasised. It also plays well with others and doesn’t move when I apply my daily makeup on top.

The BB Cream is comfortable to wear and feels refreshing once in contact with my skin allowing it breathe which I love now the sun has made an appearance finally here in the UK (don’t worry we have rain forecast tomorrow!). For such a light coverage I have found it to be reasonably long lasting staying put for six hours without being set before I noticed a slight fading, this isn’t a deal breaker for me as it is such a sheer finish it is not obvious. I love the ease and lightweight feel of the Sheer Glow BB Cream and how quickly it lifts and brightens my tired skin in the morning (my kids will sleep one day!) it gives the perfect natural luminosity without a sign of any glitter and the skin caring ingredients leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated. If like me you love a minimal dewy everyday look you will love the Sheer Glow BB Cream!

Trinny London BFF Serum DeStress Review

There are many factors that affect our health and skin and for me stress is a big factor (I need to do more yoga!). I always believe our faces reflect our emotions and you can easily tell when I am run down. When Trinny London released their BFF Serum De-stress it immediately caught my attention, a de-stress for my skin yes please!

The BFF Serum De-Stress comes packaged in a silver tube with the lid popping off to reveal a pump dispenser which is easy to use and pops out the perfect amount for application. The tube is accompanied by an empty stack pot to dispense the serum into making it easy to pop in your bag or add to your stack, if you are a fan of Trinny London you will know how useful and easy to use the stacks are! There are twelve shades in the collection which may sound limited but do not fear the formula is stretchable adapting to all skin tones making it easy to find your perfect shade, I picked up the shade Claire.

The Magic Formula!

The unique ingredients and science behind the formula of BFF Serum De-Stress instantly grabbed my attention. I don’t often get too deep into the science side on here however I can’t help myself on this occasion and must delve into it! The formula contains an innovative NP-TriOx Technology which includes Neurophroline to counterbalance cortisol (our stress hormones) giving our skin the boost it needs to manage and protect itself against the short and long term effects of stress which I find really appealing! The formula also includes:

Hyaluronic Acid – helps the skin to retain moisture leaving it looking smooth and healthy
Triple Broad-Spectrum Antioxidant Complex – to protect the skin and stimulate collagen production

How did it Perform?

I am the first to admit I can get stressed very easily and weeks down the line my skin will show the effects, needless to say the BFF Serum De-stress was certainly going to be put through its paces with me! The formula is thicker than your average tinted moisturiser feeling more creamy and smooth as opposed to a loose fluid, do not be put off by this as I have found it melts and blends easily into my skin. It instantly adds a hint of luminosity and lifts my complexion giving me that fresh awake look that I crave. I love the calming effect it has on my redness and is buildable to a light/medium coverage that I can completely cover it on days I feel I need that little bit more help. My skin feels softer and smoother, I liken it to applying a thin glowing veil on my skin and you all know how much I love the glow! You will struggle to apply this serum and come away looking a mess, I often apply with one hand whilst getting my kids ready with the other – that is how much I can trust this formula!

It has a beautiful fruity scent which is delicious! It isn’t overpowering for those that aren’t fans of fragrance, I personally enjoy it. My skin is currently on the dehydrated side and I am so impressed with how the BFF covers these areas without clinging and emphasising them, it’s magic! It is a lovely hydrating formula that feels nourishingl on my skin and has caused no irritation which I was so happy with as I currently have irritated eczema on my jawline. It is lovely and lightweight I forget I have it on to be honest, my skin can breathe making it perfect for the warmer months ahead. It have found it to be long lasting leaving my skin looking juicy all day, one less thing to worry about! Through continual use of over a month I have noticed a calming effect on my skin, it appears considerably less dull and drained which I have been pleasantly surprised by, the skincare benefits in this formula are hard workers! I love the instant brightening effect and BFF Serum De-Stress is a magic tube I will happily repurchase in the future.

Glowing Skin This Spring! Skincare Routine with Alpha H

It is officially Spring, our clocks have gone forward and the flowers are starting to bloom! With the seasons change a few tweaks have been made to my skincare routine to get the healthy glowing skin I love! Alpha-H are famous for their bottles of magic effective acid treatments and problem solving skincare, I have been using them for six weeks and am in love with how healthy my skin looks. It has that natural healthy glow which I am always after! For reference I have dehydrated combination skin which currently is on the sensitive side, I need all the hydration and goodness I can get! You want to know my secret weapons…… oh go on then! Here are the magic bottles I have been adding to my skincare routine to get that Springtime glow!

Balancing Cleanser with Aloe Vera (£25.00)

I think of the Balancing Cleanser as a creamy dream! It has a beautiful lightweight cream consistency which has been carefully formulated to imitate our skins natural pH. The formula contains skin loving Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, the perfect hydrating antioxidant duo! A true gem it is a gentle and moisturising treat giving my skin some welcome nourishment whilst gently removing makeup and dirt including my stubborn mascara! I love how soothing this cleanser is on my skin, effective without stripping it and kind enough to my sensitive eczema patches which have recently appeared. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft with a bright and healthy appearance, I already have my next bottle ready! Full review can be found here.

Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF50+ (£29.00)

I adore the lightweight consistency of the Daily Essential Moisturiser, now that we are into the warmer months it is perfect! It soaks into my skin easily leaving it white cast free and with a natural hint of glow! Comfortable to wear it has caused me no irritation and let’s my breathe which is what I am always look for especially on hot days! It is full of skin protecting ingredients including Vitamin E, rich in antioxidants and Glycerin to lock in moisture and leave my skin feeling baby soft and smooth! It works beautifully alone and under my makeup causing no movement or pilling. The added sun protection is the sprinkles on top of the icing on the cake (I have made myself hungry!) high protection of SPF50 against UVA/UVB rays it is my daily go to for some skin loving care and glow!

Liquid Gold with Glycolic Acid (£33.50)

Ooohhhh Liquid Gold, the iconic and arguably most recognised product from Alpha H! This has been my secret weapon for many years, revitalising my skin overnight it gives a new meaning to beauty sleep! I use it alternative evenings after cleansing and before my night treatment, it works quickly and lifts my complexion giving me an even skin tone and yes you guessed that hint of glow! Containing 5% Glycolic Acid it gently removes dead skin cells and helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles thanks to its collagen stimulating powers. I personally love the significant improvement it has on my dehydrated areas, it really helps my skin to retain moisture and stay hydrated which my skin loving! A gentle and effective treatment which always delivers my beloved glow!

Liquid Gold Midnight Reboot Serum (£70.00)

The newest magic bottle on my shelf is the recently launched the Midnight Reebot Serum! the unique formula contains a combination of Glycolic Acid and Granactive Retinoid to resurface, repair and revive our skin. I think of it as Liquid Golds big sister, it has a beautiful silky lightweight texture which absorbs easily into my skin and works magic overnight giving me smoother luminous skin in the morning, some real beauty sleep magic! Long term results promise to improve the appearance of fines lines, wrinkles, redness and texture – one of those hard workers that I love! I am not often a fan of face palettes there is often a shade or two that don’t work for me that I often give them a miss to avoid waste, however I have been happily proven wrong with the Smashbox Cali Contour palette! The shades all work in harmony together and are the perfect balance of mattes and shimmers making it easy to create a polished look in minutes. The shades are all buildable and sit beautifully on my foundations causing no movement which is always an essential! The mattes deliver a stunning natural finish without looking muddy or too orange and the shimmers have the ideal hint of luminosity without speck of glitter, combined they create a gorgeous fresh sun-kissed glow. I have experienced no settling into my fine lines or pores, the formula is lightweight and fine leaving a smooth finish every time.

I must admit over the years I have often shied away from contouring, the few attempts I tried when it became popular thanks to the Kardashians left a lot to be desired! The Cali Contour palette has made it easy for me to achieve a natural contoured look, perfect for makeup enthusiasts at any level and makeup artists it includes everything you need. I really appreciate the size of the pans which easily accommodate my larger brushes without the need for any fiddly manoeuvring! The formula is gentle enough to be used on my eyes as a shadow for the easy everyday monochrome look I love. I have found all the shades to be long wearing and do not often set them as they have such great staying power. I am so impressed with the Cali Contour palette I find myself reaching for it daily and love that all the shades are flattering on my fair skin, this will be perfect companion once we can travel again! A summer staple for me!

Being the IT Cosmetics CC Cream fan that I am I always love exploring their beautiful range including their skincare collection. I am obsessed with eye creams, once I passed 35 my under eye became more dry and sensitive (the perks of getting older!) soothing and hydrating the delicate skin has become top of my list! When the Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream landed on my desk it didn’t take long for me to see if it would work some magic (miracles!).

Packaged in a luxurious glass jar which twists open easily the Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream has a beautiful light blue rich texture which I was really excited to use! It promises to make your under eye appear well rested and more awake which this tired mum is here for! A real hard worker it claims to:

Hydrate and nourish your delicate under eye
Reduce the appearance of dark circles with its unique blue tint
Anti-aging it will improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Brighten and firm your under eye

Key Ingredients

IT Cosmetics always include effective skin loving ingredients in their formulas and Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream is no exception including:

Collagen – anti-aging it will improve elasticity, hydration and skin tone
Vitamin C – an anti-oxidant it will protect your skin whilst encouraging skin cell renewal

Seeing it is jam packed full of many of my favourite ingredients I had high hopes!

I have been using Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream for two months and it is one of the most hydrating eye creams I have used, it deserves a superhero cape! The cream has the perfect consistency it is neither too thick nor too thin, a small amount of this lush rich cream is all that is needed to effectively soothe and moisturise my under eye . It instantly feels cooling on application and is a welcome refreshing wake me up in the morning! It absorbs super quickly and works beautifully underneath my concealer leaving me with the perfect smooth base for my makeup. It gives me the wide awake look I long for naturally reducing any puffiness that has cheekily taken up residence and has a slight plumping effect helping to smooth out my fine lines.

I love how gentle this cream is my sensitive eyes have not been irritated which is an essential for me! I love to pop a slightly thicker amount on in the evening as a hydrating eye mask, I wake up with bright and smooth under eyes which I love – a spa treat at home! On days when my eyes have felt extremely dry I have popped an additional small application on during the day for some instant relief, I love how quickly my under eye can be soothed and feel comfortable again. I have not seen a significant change in the discolouration under my eyes, they do appear brighter and more awake which I need help with! I will keep you updated should I see any change in the discolouration through continued use. This pot will last a long time, I am two months in and have ample left to use which is fantastic! The winning factor for me with this eye cream is its hydration power my under eyes have not felt as soft and looked as healthy in a long time! My wide awake secret eye cream is a keeper on my shelf!

Vieve Eye Wand Review

I love a quick and easy eye look, the days when I could sit and take the time to play with my eye makeup are few and far between so I am always on the look out for quick and easy options that give me the quality and polished finish I want. Vieve has captured my attention with their collection to date, neutral shades that are wearable both day and night making them easy to use. When the Eye Wands recently launched I had two ordered in seconds!

Encased in Vieves classic black and gold packaging which I adore the Eye Wands are lightweight with the lid popping off to reveal the enclosed wand, a gentle twist is all that is needed to get the perfect sized tip for application. I love the shape of the tip, it has enough curve to make it easy to apply comfortably in your eye socket and also line under your under eye. The outer packaging indicates the shade inside making it easy to grab the shade I want in my makeup bag.

Now I love a multiuse product and the Eye Wands do not disappoint, they can be used as an eyeshadow, primer and eye liner. They promise to be:

Highly pigmented leaving a beautiful matte finish
Blend easily, used either alone, together or combined with powder eyeshadow
A skin loving formula to nourish our delicate eye area
Cruelty free, gluten free and vegan friendly

Easy to use tip makes application effortless

There are six stunning and wearable nude shades in the collection:

The Vieve Eye Wands are lovely and creamy seamlessly adding a beautiful pop of colour to my lid in seconds. I am a fan of a quick and easy eye look and love that applying using my finger or a brush I get a gorgeous result each time. The formula works with me, it doesn’t immediately dry giving me plenty of time to blend and build the colour from sheer to intense depending on my mood. The eye wands work perfectly in unison, gorgeously creamy I can mix and blend both shades to create a quick and easy smokey eye in minutes which is perfect on my busy mornings. They work well with my powder eyeshadows, once dried down they do not budge and are the perfect base. Camel is the perfect warm shade for summer giving me a beautiful sun kissed golden eye! Hazlenut works beautifully alone or combined with Camel for some added depth, both are wearable and flattering shades.

I have experienced no transfer and love how lightweight and comfortable they are on my eyes. The colour is long lasting and I have experienced only the most subtle hint of fading after ten hours wear which I am really impressed with. The finish is smooth on my lids, I used to shy away from cream shadows believing they would emphasise my occasionally dry lids and crease easily and am so happy this is not the case! I am not a makeup artist and love the variety of uses and looks I can create using the eye wands! They remove easily at the end of the day and leave my eye lids feeling soft, I love that the formula is not drying! I could easily use all six shades in the collection although Camel is my current favourite p! A welcome addition to my makeup bag!

Revolution Pro Hydra Matte Primer Review

I do love a smooth base for my makeup and hands up I admit I have quite a collection of primers! I am always on the look out for a new must have and quickly put the Revolution Pro Hydra Matte Primer to the test!

The Hydra Matte Primer comes in the classic gold packaging I love from Revolution Pro, the glass bottle feels wonderfully weighty and luxurious. The lid pops off to reveal a pump dispenser which is easy to use and dispenses the perfect amount with little effort needed. The Hydra Matte Primer claims to be an all in one serum and primer which will:

Give your complexion a plump appearance
Leave your skin smooth for easy makeup application
Hydrate and protect your skin

The formula includes collagen and antioxidants to plump your skin whilst protecting and repairing it. I have combination skin which is currently dehydrated and love that this formula will add some hydration to my skin!

The Hydra Matte Primer has a lightweight fluid consistency which feels silky and smooth when applied to my skin, I find one pump is the perfect amount! It instantly feels refreshing and once absorbed leaves my skin feeling beautifully soft. If you do not enjoy the tacky feeling many primers can leave on your skin you will enjoy how quickly this absorbs, it leaves my complexion lovely and smooth – the perfect base for my daily makeup. The finish is a natural demi-matte as opposed to a full matte, it has a subtle hint of natural sheen which if you are a regular reader you will know my love of a dewy finish and I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying using this!

I have been using the Hydra Matte Primer for four weeks and love how easily my makeup glides on, it has a slight plumping effect on my skin which I enjoy and have noticed prevents my makeup from settling into my fine lines which is always a bonus! It has a light scent, if you are not a fragrance fan it does not linger nor has it caused my skin any irritation. This primer plays well with others, I have tried many of my favourite bases both liquid and powder on top and love the smooth even finish I can achieve. I love the boost of hydration it gives my skin and often wear it alone on no makeup days to give my complexion a lift! A kind and gentle formula which will work for all skin types especially if you prefer a demi-matte finish.

Bareminerals Gen Nude Blonzer Review

Every now and then a new launch captures my attention that I can’t stop thinking about it until I have tried it. Bareminerals launched their limited edition collection of Gen Nude Blonzers in time for Spring, I love the original Gen Nude Blushers so naturally the combination of a bronzer and blush for a natural sun-kissed glow was a must try for me!

The Bareminerals Blonzer comes packaged in a rose gold compact which is lightweight and pops open easily. The compact does not include a mirror, this does not bother me but I appreciate it is a preference for some. The Blonzer promises to:

Leave a luminous sun-kissed finish
Blend easily into your skin
A buildable formula to your preferred finish
Leave your skin looking smooth whilst disguising skin imperfections
Long wearing it will last all day

The Blonzer contains a unique Blurring Mineral Complex of mineral based light reflecting pearls which will leave a smooth luminous finish on your skin helping to disguise any problem areas. The formula is talc-free, gluten free and vegan friendly.

There are three shades in the collection which have been created to suit all skin tones:

Kiss of Pink
Kiss of Copper
Kiss of Rose

I picked up Kiss of Pink, the lightest shade in the collection I felt it would work best on my fair/light skin. The suggested application for the perfect sun kissed finish is to apply to in a W shape to capture the high points on your face where the sun would naturally hit,

I have used Bareminerals for over 15 years and have high expectations when it comes to new launches. The Blonzer has a lovely smooth soft texture that blends easily into my skin within minutes. It has the perfect balance of warmth and shimmer which instantly lifts my complexion adding some natural glow, I love the finish and look as though I have spent the day relaxing in the sun as opposed to avoiding our early Spring showers! It is beautifully pigmented and I find a light hand is all that I need to achieve a gorgeous colour payoff, it is buildable making it effortless to achieve your perfect finish.

The Blonzer is finely milled and doesn’t sit in my fine lines nor emphasise those areas I like hidden leaving me with an even complexion which I am always after! As always with Bareminerals the formula is gentle and kind to my skin, I often apply it to my eyes for an easy put together monochrome look! It is lightweight and comfortable, once applied it stayed in place giving me an all day sun kissed flush. Delilah Pure Light Liquid Radiance Review

With the sun starting to peep through our rainy days a little more I am so excited now we are in Spring and the blossom is budding on the trees! I love being able to add a bit more glow once we reach the warmer months and instantly put the Pure Light Liquid Radiance from Delilah to the test!

Delilah are a luxury cruelty free beauty brand who share my love of glowing skin! The Pure Light Liquid Radiance comes packaged in a luxurious rose gold glass bottle with a pump dispenser, it looks and feels wonderfully boujie! The Pure Light Liquid Radiance is available in two shades – Lunar and Halo, I have the shade Lunar to share with you.

The Pure Light Liquid Radiance formula includes Vitamin E which is full of antioxidants to protect our skin whilst delivering some glow! It promises to:

Instantly brighten your skin
Even your skin tone
Enhance your skin with a lit from within glow
Feel lightweight and comfortable
A multitasker which can be used alone, mixed with your foundation or body moisturiser for all over glow!

The Pure Light Liquid Radiance gives the most beautiful hint of natural luminosity and instantly brightens my complexion. A beautiful smooth light texture it is easy to blend and achieve a natural glow in seconds! I recommend a light hand as little goes a long way! It doesn’t sit or emphasise my pores or fine lines, in fact it works a little magic disguising them leaving a filter skin like finish. I love the subtle finish I can achieve I’m seconds, a hint of radiance without any sign of glitter (I am too old for that!). If you enjoy a more intense glow it is easily buildable to your preferred finish!

I love a multiuse product (I know you know!) and have been enjoying experimenting with the Pure Light Liquid Radiance for the past month. I have used it as a highlighter, all over glow mixed in with my moisturiser or foundation and also added a couple of drops to my body moisturiser, it works beautifully however you use it. I love to add it to my daily moisturiser to give my complexion a healthy boost on those days I have very little time. I have some matte foundations in my collection that are a little too flat for my personal preference and love the lift a drop of Pure Light gives them leaving me with the added touch of glow which I was missing, great to prevent wasting products!

It feels comfortable and lightweight on my skin allowing it to breathe, I often forget I have it on to be honest! Long lasting I can trust it to stay in place all day which I always love! It removes easily at the end of the day with my normal cleanser and has caused me no irritation. Now we are in the warmer months (I think many of us are cheering!) I am reaching more and more for Pure Light to give me the sun-kissed glow I love! I will be exploring more from Delilah and their glowing skin collection!

Expecto Patronum! I always think of magic when I see a mascara wand! Although I am using less makeup currently mascara is one of my daily essentials, it makes me feel a bit more put together and gives me that little extra sparkle of confidence. I always get excited to try out new formulas and could not wait to coat my lashes in the Lash Booster Ciglione Mascara from Diego Dalla Palma!

Diego Dalla Palma are an Italian beauty brand who believe in creating luxury and high quality products which are affordable and obtainable for everyone. The Lash Booster Cyglione Mascara comes in classic black packaging. A 5 in 1 multitasker (You know how much I love them!) it promises to give your lashes intense volume, length, definition and curl whilst delivering a healthy boost of nourishment to your lashes.

The unique formula includes three active lash loving ingredients – vitaminized matrikine, flavonoid extracted from lemon and olive leaf extract. These combined stimulate, strengthen and protect your lash follicles whilst providing nourishment and leaving your lashes looking healthy.

The Wand

Ah the magic wand! A tapered brush design, this style of brush is fantastic at adding volume whilst defining each individual lash.

Review

Mascara is an essential for me and I immediately loved how lightweight and comfortable the brush is to use, capturing and coating my lashes with ease. The mascara is highly pigmented giving my lashes an even and intense jet black coating which made me look more awake instantly – the result I always want! The formula is a great consistency, that perfect balance between being neither too thick nor too thin it glides through my lashes clump free. It isn’t too wet that I have found it to transfer nor does it dry too quickly making it easy to build and amp up your lashes for a more dramatic finish. Once set it does not budge and I experienced no flaking or transfer through out the day, not a panda eye in sight!

The finish from the Lash Booster Ciglione Mascara is impressive! I rarely have time to curl my lashes and love the curl effect I can achieve with this mascara, it gives a beautiful lift leaving a wide eyed appearance which I love. I always look for volume and length from my mascara and wow did this deliver! The wand design is perfect for stretching and elongating my lashes whilst leaving them looking thicker and fuller after one coat! It is long lasting and comfortable causing no irritation to my sensitive eyes, it also removes easily at the end of the day using my normal remover without the need for excessive scrubbing which is always a must have for me!

I have been using the Lash Booster Ciglione Mascara for three weeks and it has become a firm favourite of mine, a multi- tasker which gives my lashes some serious definition and oomph, a magic wand in my makeup bag!
